hmmm First, move somewhere warm. Like Baltimore...

Second, be sure to give that space heater plenty of room. Those things start fires.

Third, wrap up in some blankets and whatnot.

I am in Baltimore! lol Thats the problem
Don't you just wish you were here too lol

The space heater ain't gonna happen tonight, but I am gonna pile every blanket, spare coat, sweater and whatever in top of me in bed tonight!

Girl, TN's in the 20s, too. Freezing rain, snow, and ice all over the place. disbelief But, I hear ya.

Come on now. You know how BGE was charging old folks hundreds of dollars a month, a few years ago... They are up there with Mr. Potter, when it comes to having a heart.

I hate being cold, and it's well below freezing outside

Give me some suggestions for getting warm guys.

I have a space heater, but everytime I plug it in a fuse blows bawl

body heat under the blanket is a good way to go, but you have to stay under the whole time.

Can you go to a hotel? If that isn't an option....and if you have camping equipment, you might do better to use a quality sleeping bag on top of your bed. It will hold in your body heat better since thats what its designed for. If not, consider adding a layer of plastic in between your blankets to help lock in body heat. Since you dont have another body to be against, for what its worth, your body parts might warm other body parts better skin against skin. (i.e.... your legs and feet together may feel warmer if you wear a nightgown instead of pajama pants.....)
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

I know how you feel. A couple of years ago,my furnace cracked, and I could'nt afford to have it fixed right away,so it was freezing all the time. I wore my jacket, and 2 pairs of socks, and at night I bundled under 2 comforters, sometimes with my jacket on. lol Now the furnace works, but it still gets cold upstairs, and with trying to cut down on the bills, and all I bought a heated mattress pad. It's like a heating blanket, but you put it under your sheet.

Space heaters use 1800plus watts of power. These things can easily overload your circuits and cause an electrical fire.

I'd say go with some extra clothing until things get fixed.

I tried the space heater again last night, but this time I unplugged everything else in my bedroom...then in the middle of the night I got up for water, and plugged one lamp in and the friggin fuse blew AGAIN! mad

So yeah, space heaters suck!

Oooh boy. This happened to me last year for 7 days because it was over the holidays and my landlord couldn't find anyone to come and fix the problem!

You need an electric blanket, it shouldn't blow any fuses like the space heater. You can also continuously boil big pots of water in your kitchen. I have a very small apartment so I had my oven on for a little while and left the door open...I do not suggest this because it's dangerous but if it's just for a little while it shouldn't hurt.

I feel for you, I really do! I hope it doesn't last too much longer. I remember going to bed with 4 layers on, 5 blankets and I could still feel the cold seeping in. I woke up and my room was 36 degrees...I could see my breath!

hug

Oh dogs will keep you warm too! If you have pets...cuddle!
