today i had an ultrasound on my chest

So the time has rolled around for me to be subjected to a barrage of medical tests to check for any of the shit floating around in my family's genetic kiddie pool. (lupus, cancer, certain mental disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.)

Today I went for an ultrasound check of my heart and lungs. I was a bit worried about it in the weeks preceding, reasonably so IMO.

But after the tests, the doctor said there were no huge signs of anything to concern myself over. There's no problems with my lungs as far as could be seen. She said my heartrate is definitely faster than normal, but said it's not surprising given my small stature. Seems a lot of physically small adults have faster than normal heartrates, so it's no big deal.

So that's a load off my mind. It's no guarantee I won't or don't have something wrong with me health-wise, but at least my respiratory and circulatory systems aren't anything to fuss over.

Yeah, I definitely felt this huge weight lifted off my shoulders when the Doc said what was up. I still need to do a follow-up appointment, but as far as these tests go I should be all good. smile

Last time I had an ultrasound done on me, the doctor had me facing the screen so that I could actually see what was going on inside of me.
At one point, I spotted what appeared to be a baby's arm making a fist and exclaimed, "Oh shit! I'm pregnant!"
My doctor told me to calm down, that it was just my penis.
I was both relieved & embarrassed at the same time.
