I've done my own every year except one where I had a very unique financial situation. I am waiting for a my w-2 and a statement from my student loan company (so I can deduct the interest paid) and will file asap because I should get a bit of a refund.

Always do my own.

I'm still waiting on my W2 from the part time job I had for part of the year last year or they'd be filed already. sigh

Accountant, tax liabilities are such a pain in the ass and i see no reason why the government should have more than the 40% it takes from my monthly wages and the 40% corporation tax bill on top of the other shit. My accountant is awesome and has reduced the bills substantially by using the law to our favour.

I bought the H&R Block Turbo Tax thing last year, because that's who I usually have my taxes done by,but I could'nt figure out where to put the money that I earn for watching my nephews. The income is considered miscellaneous, but whenever I go,and file with H&R Block they file it as if I am self employed, but I get paid through a company (NCO) so it's not like I have a child care business. I would love to be able to file my own, because last year it cost me over a $100 to have them done. Plus the Turbo Tax application is supposed to come with audit protection. I know it can't be that difficult. neutral
