How did you end up here in the first place? I know there are plenty of you, and that you stick around for the discussion, the music talk, the friendships and other things. But how'd you come to be on prince.org?

Yeah...
I used to be a HUGE fan of Shorty McPurplepants.
But, his lack of concern for his fans has since left me with the same feelings towards him.

I'm not sure how I found this site, since I'm one of the few remaining 10 years plus veterans from the PPML days.
I think I just did a search and ended up here.
So hard to remember now...so long ago...

Used to like his stuff mid to late 80's but never been a massive fan, came here because my sis used to tear it up in P+R and back in the days when you could join and post straight away (2000 i think) she got in to a ruck in P+R in her lunch break when she worked for me. She called for backup and i steamed in. She left, i stayed, not only stayed but met my soul mate here
She is still here but only pops in occasionally now on account of 2 heel biters under 6

There are good people here, i have been lucky enough to meet many. I have made lifelong brothers and sisters here and that is why i stay. The recent elements that damage this place, like all things, will pass.

When I used to search for things in google, no matter how different the topic may have been I'd always end up here. Eventually I realised there was good varied discussion here and really started enjoying it and wanting to contribute, so I signed up. Then deleted my account after spending too much time here. But it didnt stop me from coming to the site and reading so all it did was frustrate me that I couldn't join in, so just signed back up again.

why would a non prince fan be on this forum?

I was a fan when I joined this site(back when it was black & purple<<---couldn't find the "purple" color ).

Prince has always been eccentric(which can't be faulted against him since 3/4 of us in here are abit eccentric too one way or another).

But his paranoia cost him his mind & a shit load of people last year, when he sued the mother of the child who was dancing to "Lets Go Crazy" and bullied her to take the video off,,,,and to add insult with injury, demanded his ONLY fansite in the internet(the almighty org) to be closed

Basically this lil' munchkin's actions said it loud and clear; "Keep your stupid admiration, I want YOUR money".

That oughta leave a nasty taste in anybody's mouth. Esp to those in here who worked hard to support him morally & YES financially in this day & age where he's no longer relevant in the music industry.

I still love his music despite the bullshit,,,,,and as you can see, I'm still here because I simply found some of the most engaging personalities that I share so much in common with that I probably won't ever encounter with in any other site.

So there's my story.

Was a fan, but he lost me about 5 years ago. I just see him now as a self absorbed, egomanical, whiny, boring, pathetic, dated, money grubbing pimp.

But I still come for the news, the laughs, the politics, new music and everything else not Prince.

I'm not as big as fan as I used to be and with recent developments, I would have said I am not a fan anymore. But then last night, I went to Prince Night and Marcus was playing the Lovesexy concert and then played the Automatic video for me and I fell in love with the guy all over again.

I guess I'm a Prince fan but the Prince forum is not for me. I'm crazy but not that damn crazy.
