Thinking about leaving school...again...

Sorry to bore you guys about how slow and uneventful my life is going...but...I've been in school almost a year now, and so far I have nothing to show for it. I'm not supposed to graduate until th end of the summer and they're ALREADY talking about getting rid of me. I'm getting a piss poor education, which won't get me anywhere, I REALLY can't deal with the living arrangements. I don't know what I'm gonna do. I really feel like going balls 2 the wall and just leaving. Plus, it's after midnight, I was supposed to be sleep 4 hours ago, but both of my roommates are on their phones. And I'm like are they fucking serious? They have all day to talk to who they want to, but they wait until midnight? This shit is too murich. I'm supposed to do some kind of national design competition but I'm not up for it. I mean, I LOVE art and I've had a passion for it ever since I was a kid, but I don't feel like it's what I'm meant to do with my life. It'll be a part of everything I do, but it won't be the dominant force in my life. I'm still young, and I want to exploit all the opportunity out of my 20's I can....

I'd suggest that you finish. I quit once for 2 years AFTER 2 years. I went back for 3 more and if I hadn't been graduating that May, I would have seriously been contemplating quitting again.

I'm glad I stuck with it, even though I never got a job utilizing my particular major. I went back to my "part-time" job for 6 more years, and eventually the degree did help me to get hired full-time with the same company for a pretty good salary and a decent amount of responsibility. It has nothing to do with what I went to school for, but it helped me to advance within the field I was already working.

just my 2 cents....

I REALLY feel you on that, it's just that, for me, I feel like i'm being pulled in a lot of different directions right now for me just to be focused on one. I feel that I should be out doing other things that will lead me into other things I want to do, you know? Find out how I can get my foot in the door to do whatever I want to do, whichever that is...

a) what's the alternative ?

b) Most of the people don't do what they love and make money of it. It's about doing that what you have to for 8 hours a day and spend most of the other 16hrs working your ass off on that what inspires you. You can't be succesful from under a bridge wink

With succesful I don't mean make lots of money. You can be succesful in anything you want, as long as it fulfills YOU.

Work my ass off for 16 hours a day? Pfft..Sorry, not for me. I don't know. I'm in class right now so I'm gonna do a lot of research online, since there's really nothing left for me to do in this class. I basically just have to sit in here for 1200 hours.

Buy some earplugs.

You're welcome.

But that's not what college is for. It's about not growing up for at least another four years. wink
