Patti Lupone stops the show to yell at someone taking pictures

They've been playing this clip on Howard Stern and it's pretty funny. Patti Lupone is in a revival of Gypsy on Broadway and she stopped in the middle of a peformance to yell at someone who kept taking pictures (not that I blame her for being pissed).

But it gets even better with the LuPWNed! remix:

This reminds me of my neices wedding, the priest stopped the ceremony, 3 times to tell the photographer to not use flash, everyone even the bride and groom were confuse made it uncomfortable for everyone. Then my older sister and I started to laugh, not outloud, but that quiet, don't let anyone see you laugh, priceless. giggle

nod You'd be kicked out the club for not recognizing Miss Patty. lol

I saw her last year in this show and she's off the chain. love I'm glad she clowned that fool cuz people don't realize or care how obnoxious it is to the performers and those around you to film during a show or concert. Annoying.

She's MOST famous for playing Evita and singing Don't Cry for Me Argentina.

She won a Tony in '79 for Evita. She's been in many, many Broadway shows, my favorite of which was the late-'80s revival of Anything Goes. She's got an amazing voice.

(Also, if you have seen the movie Summer of Sam, you have seen her boobs, which is neither here nor there, but I bring it up because it's just something that I so wish I hadn't ever seen.)

She was also hilarious as herself on Will and Grace. lol

Well, in the US. Europe of course had Julie Covington, whom's version, I must admit, prefer over every other performance.

I'm not talking about what version is better, I said that role and song is what SHE is most famous for which is true since Evita is her signature role.

I was going to say Nathan Lane initially. I guess a lot of people can lay claim to that title. But Patti is a big one!

I understand her being pissed at the dude for taking pics ( so should the audience) but at Broadway Prices I would've been DOUBLE pissed for her breaking character mid-number. Tell the house manager to get the dickhead gone while you run backstage for a change. confused

Wasn't she the original Maria in West Side Story, too? I saw her in Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. I hated it, she was the only reason I didn't leave during the intermission. She was the reason I went to see Gypsy. She is a legend.

She wasn't West Side's Maria, but Chita Rivera was Anita.
