psychodelicide said: Just talked to the vet this morning, and he said that Reebok is doing well ("eating, purring and running around" - lol!) I get to take him home tonight! I hope he continues to improve, since I'm still concerned about the infection in his intestines, and about his stitches not staying put because of said infection. I'm happy, but I'm still guardedly optimistic about it. Reebok is a feisty cat, so hopefully his feistiness will enable him to continue fighting and getting better. I'm still continuing to pray that everything goes well for him.
Thanks to all for your orgnotes, kind messages, prayers and hugs. I really, truly appreciate it! It's wonderful to know that there are so many people on the org who care. Cool beanz!

Just a couple of questions; Do you know if the vet removed part of the bowel? Cos that's really what they should do if it's the bowel that's infected, it's not dangerous at all and they use those dissolving stitches. Did they put in a draining tube? They should have if they didn't. Did they prescribe antibiotics? If not, call them asap Monday and DEMAND you get it. Better safe than sorry. Again, glad the thingie is out now. Thank you. I don't think the vet removed part of the bowel, or used dissolving stitches. I think because the bowel was so infected, the vet probably didn't want to risk cutting it. And I think he wanted to use stronger stitches, to try to hold everything together. The way that the vet explained it to me is that when the bowel is infected, it makes it really hard to stitch it back up after surgery. I don't think the cat has a draining tube, but I know they have him on an IV, so that the meds are going through his bloodstream on a continual basis. I'm still hoping and praying for the best. awwww poor kitty, Isis and I are praying for your cat (Whats your cats name???)

Update us Nance. Apples, want me to beat down Horatio? lol Animals seem to sense when people like them. When I was at the vet's with Reebok, there was a cute dog in the vet's waiting room. He was wagging his tail and jumping up on me, wanting me to pet him. Animals always seem to gravitate towards me, which is great, because they seem to like me as much as I like them. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Another update: I brought Reebok home last night, and he's doing well. He's back to eating, drinking, and acting more like himself again. Which is a HUGE relief for me, because I was really worried about the little guy. I can tell that Reebok feels better, because when he was so sick, you could give him his medicine, and he wouldn't even react in any way. Since Reebok came back from the vet's, I have had to have my dad hold him down so I can give him his medicine. Trying to give him even liquid medicines is a two-person job, because Reebok fights you all the way, the entire time. He's quite a feisty, lively cat, but I'm happy to see him returning back to his old self again. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Maybe it's the flavor of the medicine. I think it's his way of throwing a tantrum. I am glad that Reebok is back to his lively and feisty self.

Anytime I have had to take meds to settle my stomach (which is what Reebok has been prescribed), they don't taste too good. Kind of chalky. Thank you; Reebok definitely is on the mend. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
