nod The vet did inject some water under the cat's skin for the dehydration. Hopefully that will work.

Okay, here is an update for those of you who are interested. I just got back from the vet's, after being there for almost an hour. The vet examined my cat, and said that he was dehydrated (probably from throwing up for the last couple of days). It's a good thing I brought him in when I did! The poor cat was so dehydrated that the vet had trouble drawing blood so that they could run tests on him. The vet had to draw blood from both legs, so the cat has a matching bandaid on each leg. giggle The vet had to stop, give him some fluid to help with the rehydration, then draw the rest of the blood that he needed.

The vet also gave my cat some meds to help his tummy, as well as two liquid meds that I have to give to him morning and night. The doctor mentioned the possibility that the reason why my cat was vomiting could be something related to his liver or thyroid. sad But I'm hoping and praying that it's not that, and that this is something minor that can be cured quickly. pray

I hope your cat gets to feeling better. I once had to give my old cat an IV everyday to keep her hydrated. It's not fun. Poor kitty!

Smooches;)

Poor kitty. sad Did she get dehydrated from vomiting too? It seems to happen quickly in cats.

Yeah sad It was summer and she got a little cold, which upset her tummy. She wouldn't eat or drink...she would only lay around and vomit. One of my best girlfriends is a vet tech, so she came and took a look at her and gave me some medicine, but she still wouldn't drink anything neutral So my friend came back and brought a little baby doll bottle! Lizzie loved to lay in my arms and nibble on my shirt anyway, so she loved drinking from the bottle while I held her lol

Smooches;)

That's exactly what my cat has been doing. It's a good thing your friend was a vet tech, so she could tell you how to take care of your kitty so that she could get well again.

It's worrisome when you have a pet that keeps vomiting. My vet asked me several times if my cat ingested something that he should have. I don't think he did, since I don't leave any cleaning products/pesticides/string or anything laying out in the open.
