Oftentimes, to do this job properly (i.e. not getting your own ass fired, or ending up in bankruptcy), you have to learn how to separate the personal from the professional. You might feel bad that you have to fire someone (for instance), but if you're overly sensitive, you could very well steer the company into a situation where everybody's out the door. How many people have you fired?  None, yet. But I'm hoping you'll apply so I can boot your ass out the door.  | |

Some do, some don't.  
I've been a boss several times and I've had many bosses. You're not meant to have an uber personal relationship with a boss. That's just weird. But I have had quite close working relationships with bosses, I've had bosses that genuinely care, I think I genuinely cared for many if not most of my direct reports, etc. |

i am a boss/supervisor that cares about the people i work with because i've
been working around ones who don't.. i have a tendency to feed them and stuff if they are teens or early 20's... i've been called mama boss at a few jobs   'why y'all trying to say goodbye? I didn't go anywhere, I'm right here, im all around you,always..'
