There was no darkness 2 be found. I don't think the brothers work in Hollywood anymore.

There's a lot of buzz about Viola Davis (Doubt) and Taraji Henson (Benjamin Button) getting nominations for Oscars. I can't think of anyone else.

And for all the buzz that Taraji's gettin' you hardly EVER see her in the trailers for Benjamin Button.

I saw her once - She was holding him when he was a baby, and it flashed by pretty fast.

As for the blackout, and i thought you guys meant power outage, who says there always has to be a black nominee? I mean if the roles aren't there, you can't have a nomination, and its up to all these black writers and directors to start putting something else out besides action flicks and near musicals. Now Denzel had a movie out...The Great Debators. That should have been ackowledged for sure! nod

That's the problem - people who are VERY COOL with there NOT being a Black nominee, which ULTIMATELY means that there are hardly any Black roles of noteriety - and THAT'S the biggest problem than a nomination. It's not JUST up to Black writers, because if it WERE that simple, the problem would be solved, trust and believe - I KNOW.

You also have to consider who's doing the nominating in the first place. Also, the Great Debators came out year before last.

If the globes are like the Oscars it is previous winners, directors, producers, which stands to reason ain't a lot of minorities. shrug
