1. become a teacher - dont particularly like kids but its a garunteeded job 2. convert it to a law degree - takes 2 years and i have been intrested in law and was tempted to do a law degree but i really dont fancy being sat at a desk doing enviromental law 3. take another degree - this is probably the option i most like the sound of i would be able to take a degree in movie effects which is something i would love to do, i love films and making things but then my family think this is stupid as there arent many jobs in this area so when i work out the answer to this question i will let you all know.....oh and if anyone has any suggestions let me know PLEASE do not become a teacher if you don't particularly like children. Please. For their sake and yours. Seriously. Do something you love. The Normal Whores Club

I stumbled upon it, it fell just at the right time and everyone I know tells me that it is the perfect job for me and can't believe my luck in getting it.
Of course, a job is a job and falling out of bed on a Monday morning is never ever going to be my number one favourite passtime, but I could - and have done - have a much worse job. This is not an exit

Without waxing too theological, I might say that what I now do actively is what I've sort of been wired to do by default, anyway. I believe theological study and getting out there, meeting people and teaching and relaying varied personal ministries in work, in word, in life example, etc. is just sort of what I'm made to do; yeah... a "calling," if you will.
At some point I stopped pretending I'd make a better broadcast personality, journalist or reference librarian than theological student-teacher-lay minister. And I also stopped giving primacy in my life to the money-making capacity of those former hats. I must say I've got less disposable money now. But I've got so much more experiential wealth, I'm still able to help feed a family, and I'm the most content I've been in all my adulthood. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I have the utmost respect for teachers. I think it's one of the toughest jobs out there. I know I could not do it because I don't think I have the patience. I believe you have to want it and passionately believe in it. You don't get paid nearly enough. I always try and ask my kids' teachers what I can do to help them. I buy extra supplies for the class. I offer to come read books. My kids' last school did something cool. They had a teacher's lunch day out. Parents would volunteer to come and take over the class for lunch and then take the kids to recess. The teachers got a break. The parents also made dishes for the teachers to eat. It was a really nice thing. I volunteered to do it and that is what told me in no uncertain terms that I could never teach. I was dying! Those kids are a handful!

I'm following your progress thru nursing school! I know U will be a great nurse- something I know I couldn't do! When I had my surgery last February (almost a year already! ), those nurses were so wonderful to me- and I know I was a pain in the ass (esp. when I came off the morphine drip! ) There was a man on my floor who would yell out and moan all night. They were so kind to him. We all have our calling. Yours is coming... "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. After 11 years, I got tired of the little ones.... love 'em dearly, but there were only so many bathroom accidents, runny noses, and unexplained crying episodes I could take. I needed a change... For a good portion of high school and part of college, I was planning on being a photojournalist. However, working for the college campus newspaper took the fun out of photography for me, and I decided I liked it better as a hobby. I switched to teaching, and while I enjoyed it a lot, the jobs just weren't there unless I wanted to move my family. Circumstances lead me to the medical records division of Mayo Clinic, and while it's not my dream job, it is safe and secure, well paying, good people to work with, and I'm happy there. If I want to do something else bad enough, then it becomes a hobby hence my short film productions. So, to answer the question, it just kinda happened and I hadn't planned on things turning out the way that they did.
