It will not be bad as '29. There is enough hindsight and forethought for that not to happen. Congress just has to be smart about how they fix this.

you sure about that? just like I told another in P&R, you guys put too much confidence in the system... the reason I feel it would be worse is cause we have alot more to loose..

Part of what is going to have to happen is we have to start caring what happens to each other and fight.

not gonna happen..

nod I believe that also, it's been a discussion in P&R.. I believe it's gonna be worse than 29'

hmmm are you sure it's going to be worse than '29??? I know then, not only did the stock market fail but the banks failed too...right now, people still have money in their banks BUT I know that most are taking them out in fear of what may happen. And especially with banks constantly merging and buying each other out, its crazy rolleyes. I know because I was in danger of getting laid off from the bank I worked for until I recently found and accepted a job with the state government who just so happened to be hiring...and believe me, I look at the fact that I got that job as a blessing pray everyday, because people are losing theirs left and right everyday. Yes these are tough times, but I do pray that it won't be as worse as it was in '29. Not saying that we aren't close to the catastrophes that were encountered in '29, but I don't think we have quite hit to that type of rock bottom, as of yet.

yes nod people left and right loosing their jobs...I just feel that human nature is not gonna change, the rich stay rich and are hoarding up the money, and with the way they're doing stuff now, the system is gonna fail us .. that's just me... we'll see in the next 2 years

1) I didnt know it was Karla ( whom I like very much) but I stand on my remark. That wasnt two cents it was a personal attack on her shopping style when she was clear she was concerned for her friends employment. Unecessary.

Back to not thinking of myself and focusing on the people. I hear you but a good deal of people do not have your sense and sensibility and they are going to suffer deeply before this is said or done. Obahma himself has been very clear that it is going to be a long haul.

Now BofA has a hand back out for another 20 billion Where the hell are we going to keep pulling all these bailouts from?

razz Let me shine some light on why I don't care for Saks. My mother in law is COMPLETELY out of touch, name dropping, Chanel, Michael Kors, Tiffany, blah blah blah....She is also pro-Iraq War and pro Bush. She is small minded, and is constantly snobbing it up. She had friends who worked at the high end department stores. She didn't bother telling anyone that she got their DEEEP discount employee prices. She just perpetuated the lie that she wanted everyone to believe, that she could afford retail prices at Saks. barf I despise her attitude, and Saks represents people like her...to me, that is. Oh no!! The rich people don't have anywhere to shop anymore!! Whatever shall we do?!

I understand that SCwhatever her username is might be upset over her friends, but how does anyone justify spending $1500 on a goddamned blouse? Saks can go down as far as I'm concerned. Oh well! There's always Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales. lol

rolleyes That's YOUR mother in law NOT me. You don't know anything about me or ALL of the other people that may shop at Saks or anywhere else to make a blanket judgment that they are ALL a certain way. And that's my problem with you and anybody else that feels they have the right to dictate where and how anybody spends their money. I bet you wouldn't want anybody doing that to you.

Just looking at your rather angry, mean spirited post says a lot more about you than your mother in law. Saying that all people that shop at Saks are one way, is just as bad as saying that all black people are this way, and all white people are that way. It's just plain ol' ignorant. neutral

And I do not believe Karla was trolling this thread. She gave her two cents and didn't happen to agree with what Ms. SCNDLS said. We all disagree all the time. If everyone just wants happy, shiny posts then let me know.

I don't have a problem with folks disagreeing with me. But actually your homey did more than just put her two cents in with her "I guess you're so defensive about it because you won't be able to shop there anymore?" comment directed at me. That shit was certainly out of pocket especially since whoever this chick is, is comparing me to her mother in law. confused

Yeah, sure, right, if you say so. I've learned not to believe anything you have to say, so let's just leave it at that, shall we? And please keep my name out of your mouth, mkay? Moving on.....

I don't need to "get over myself", I'm fine just the way I am. rolleyes I never said that I was the only person ever to be given the name Nancy, let's not get it twisted. But when you call me a "white bitch" behind my back to another orger, then try to act like you never said it when you did, then use my name in one of your posts, then I have every right to be offended. I think you would be offended if someone used a racial slur behind your back. You need to think before you speak, instead of saying nasty things behind someone's back, then lying and trying to cover your own ass, because it just WILL NOT WORK. This post will probably wind up getting snipped once you run to your buddy moderator and squeal on me for "attacking" you, but I don't care. These are things that need to be said.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
