HAPPY GO LUCKY: I love this movie! Has anyone else seen this film?
It's about British school teacher Poppy (Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins) who is the most cheerful person in the world. Life throws obstacles occasionally in her path but her happiness is able to handle them all relatively easily. That is until she meets her nemesis, the eternally dour and angry driving instructor, Scott. She tries to use her happy powers on him and he in turn tries to infect her with his bitterness. Which is stronger, positivity or negativity? Who will come out on top? Go see the movie and find out! Highly recommended!

Knowing that you don't like the Spice Girls, I'm guessing you are Mr. Grumpy. He had awful teeth in the movie.

I think this movie had more of an impact on me than any other film that came out in 2008. Being happy all the time is such a foreign idea to me!

Here's an example although this scene was when Poppy and her friends were coming home from a club so she wasn't this on all the time, but you get the idea: Poppy's roommate Zoe is to her left all in black. She was great. Her personality was more deadpan humor and a perfect compliment to Poppy's zaniness.

I've worn black every day of my life for over the last decade so I was horrified at first.

But I can appreciate it for what it is. Gorgeous, unorthodox use of color! |

I downloaded this movie when I was watching the Golden Globes. I noticed it was a British film and I hadn't heard about it. I was pissed. I loved the lead actress in the movie FINGERSMITH.
I haven't watched it yet. Probably this weekend. MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! We want cigar puffing men that look like they wanna beat the living daylights out of us" Val"sporking is spooning with benefits"
