T-Mobile decides to hang up on Barkley T-Mobile decides to hang up on Barkley
Buzz up!Like this story? Share it with Yahoo! Buzz Dwyane Wade no longer needs to keep his cell phone on vibrate. Charles Barkley won't be calling any time soon. T-Mobile disconnected Barkley's "Fave 5" commercials with a statement saying that "given the recent developments" Sir Charles' spots no longer will air. Barkley was charged with DUI in Arizona after a Dec. 31 arrest and is alleged to have had a blood-alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit. Also, according to the police report, Barkley shared a little too much personal information, saying he was on the way to a 1:30 a.m. tryst with a woman he had just picked up. If T-Mobile had a 900-number campaign working, maybe Barkley would still have a job. As it is, a company spokesman said of Barkley's future that, "As he works through his personal matters, we will evaluate where to go from here." AdAge.com also notes Barkley is on leave from his TNT commentary gig and quotes Turner Sports president David Levy saying: "This is an important time for Charles as he deals with the legal and personal issues that confront him. Charles is a valued part of the Turner Sports organization, and we are concerned for his well-being."

I can't believe his wife has tolerated his ignant behavior for so long. I guess that's why she lives in Houston. It is cheaper to keep her, after all.

Maureen Blumhardt is the wife of basketball star and member of the infamous “Dream Team,” Charles Barkley. Barkley was recently arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona under suspicion of a DUI when a cop saw him run a red light and pick up a woman. He was pulled over around 1:30 am and may have made things worse for himself when, according to a police report, he told the officer:
“I was going to drive around the corner and get (oral sex.) He said the woman had performed the sex act for him last week and “it was the best one he had ever had.” Now that the DUI has semi blown over, the comment is all over the net, which surely won’t make his wife of 20 years, Maureen Barkley, happy. “I am disappointed that I put myself in that situation,” Barkley said. We do not have much as far as a biography or pictures of Charles Barkley’s wife, Maureen Blumhardt. We do have a video below though. Barkley married Maureen Blumhardt in 1989. The marriage was a bit of an upset for some people, as Maureen is white and the mixed marriage was criticized in some sections of Philadelphia. The couple has one daughter, Christiana, who was also born in 1989. DAMN! His wife is tall as fuck! http://celebrity.rightpun...om/?p=4840 [Edited 1/14/09 8:40am]

Barkley takes leave of absence
NEW YORK (AP) -- Charles Barkley is taking a leave of absence from the broadcast booth. The announcement by Turner Sports came Friday, hours after police said the 45-year-old former NBA star was legally drunk when he was arrested Dec. 31 on suspicion of drunken driving in Scottsdale, Ariz. Test results show Barkley had a blood-alcohol level at .149, nearly twice the legal limit of .08 in Arizona. Barkley will be off the air for a minimum of several weeks, and no return date has been set, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press. The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it. Barkley was stopped by a Gilbert officer working a regional DUI task force shortly after he left a popular nightclub at about 1:30 a.m. He failed field sobriety tests but was cooperative. He was booked and released at a field command post and later issued a statement saying he was disappointed he put himself in that situation. "When I spoke with Charles, he was apologetic for the events that transpired and it was obvious he understood the significance of this situation," said David Levy, president of Turner Sports, said in a statement. "This is an important time for Charles as he deals with the legal and personal issues that confront him. Charles is a valued part of the Turner Sports organization, and we are concerned for his well-being." Barkley's attorney wasn't immediately available for comment Friday. [Edited 1/15/09 19:03pm]
