And for Johnny Depp.. He's absolutely not overrated.. who else can play Jack Sparrow ( and many other weird characters ) the way he does? Overrated.. Steven Seagal.. He always plays the same guy..Lips pressed together, eyes pinched.. I don't understand why they don't just cast him as himself 
The same for Jean Claude van Damme.. great fighting skills though. Also overrated is Arnold Schwarzenegger. Underrated.. Gary Oldman.. Alan Rickman The Borg... Partypoopers of the galaxy.. ( Medical Hologram )

Another actor who is underrated I think is Nicolas Cage. I loved him in Moonstruck, Leaving Las Vegas, Raising Arizona, Adaptation, just to name a few. (By the way, I thought Meryl Streep was great in Adaptation, too.)
Leaving Las Vegas is one of those movies I have only seen once, but cannot watch it again. It's just too sad. 
Oh.. I also agree about Michelle Phieffer! I think she is a wonderful actress, and she is so beautiful, too. I love the movie Dangerous Liasons! And I also love The Fabulous Baker Boys. I think Jeff Bridges is an underrated actor, too. So you all think Cher is an underrated actress? I think she was great in Moonstruck, but she has not been in too many films, right? Oh, I think Selma Hayak is an underrated actress. I thought she was great in Frida. And.. other actors I think are underrated are Val Kilmer and Kurt Russell. I saw both of them in the movie... Tombstone. I thought they were great. And then I saw Val Kilmer in Blue Thunder--about an Indian reservation. I thought he was really good in that one, too! P.S. The only negative I can say about Meryl Streep is that she seems to get all the great roles for older women. It is like she is becoming the stereotypic older woman movie star. I would like to see some of these great roles spread around some. I think Glen Close, for example, is an underrated actress! I think she would have done well in the movie, Doubt, too.
