Good one!

Have you ever wondered why so many are struggling to be embraced? There is a poison that runs in the veins of those who think it best not to respect others. To call my language or accent "ugly" (for lack of a better word i'm assuming) is disrespectful and very telling .

Okay, that I disagree with.

Just wanted to make clear that my earlier clapping wasn't a blanket endorsement.

what about my statement would make you disagree? Let me ask you what you think about "English" being made the National language in countries where other languages are predominant?

I don't know where Evvy's talking about in particular but I'm Irish and we had English forced upon us through centuries of British rule. Our national language just about survives but 95% of people (including me) wouldn't use it on a day-to-day basis.

Well of course everybody in the US and Canada should speak one of the abt 500 languages of the natives, that goes without saying nod
The Folks on the British islands should speak Celtic or Saxon then.
Northern Europe should speak....well, whatever mix of languages the Vikings spoke cos they were first to settle up here. The rest of Europe would be about 100 different languages or so.
Do I need to carry on with this or do you see how ridiculous it is yet?

We sound terrible coming out of a British face. lol It became a subconscious pastime with the Brits and I in our travels. Someone would say a word that fascinated us and we'd spend the next few minutes repeating it. Jon and Toni were quite good at it after a while and it made me cringe. What hes asks, did I say it wrong? confused No, but it sounds just horrible.

They were to me but then again I've just heard Australian accents on shows like Neighbours and Heartbreak High (back in the day)...

He said, "I'm wicked psyched to be here. You guys ready to rent some cars?"

Forgive me if you already know, but the joke is he's audibly from Boston, while his coworkers are New Yorkers. The cities are bitter baseball rivals.

Wouldn't it be Brits and "me"? confused

Isn't it objective case after preposition--with "Brits and me" being compound object of preposition "with"? If using a pronoun for Brits wouldn't that pronoun be "them"? I mean you wouldn't say, "with they and I" right? You would say, "them and me"?

This is what I have learned through my study of English, not that I do not make mistakes... a lot of mistakes.

As far as accents, I like both American and British accents, so it is difficult from me to choose.

THE British one?!

British = English, Scottish, Welsh...

That's three different countries, before you even GET to the regional variations within each country.

For example, some Welsh accents are absolutely beautiful, imo.
This is not an exit

Hang on, is that American you speak? No I think it is English, from ENGLAND!!

English people speak English best. The UK regional dialects are diverse, granted, but RP is the correct and proper form of the language.
