We go to work anyway.

confused

Not much changes, we just complain a lot more. And wear more clothes.

It's OK outside right now, I think. It was -6 with a -22 windchill when I left for work this morning, but it's supposed to get that bad overnight tonight.

Coldest temperatures in 5 years.

The Twin Cities Metro will see temperatures near -20 below by sunrise Thursday which would be the coldest since January 30th when the low dipped to -24 below. The record low for the Twin Cities is -37 below set in 1888 - the coldest low for January 15th in the Metro in the past 100 years is -32 below set in 1963. Along with the bitter cold air temperatures will be dangerously cold wind-chills through Friday - the National Weather Service has issued a WIND CHILL WARNING through Friday for Wind-chills down to -40 below and possibly even colder at times - these kind of temperatures and wind-chills can lead to frostbite in minutes to exposed skin. Temperatures will moderate back into the 20s by the weekend and some light snow will come along with the increase in temperature.

They should declare a state of emergency when it's that cold. It's cruel to make you go outside. sad

Totally!

Today I am currently wearing knee socks and long underwear under a normal work outfit. When leaving for work I wore my winter boots, a big coat, a long and fuzzy wool scarf, gloves and a hat.

I was outside for maybe a total of 7 minutes this morning and I'll be outside for about the same when I leave from work (unless my bus is super late). And even under all that it's hardly bearable.

This Is ridiculous. I think we should shut down the state and everyone should be required to enjoy hot cocoa with marshmallows and take naps with our kitties.
