Authorities say Meggett, who played 10 years in the NFL, was arrested Tuesday and charged with raping a 21-year-old woman in her North Charleston home. Authorities say when he was arrested, Meggett was free on bail for charges of raping a 17-year-old in September in North Charleston. He was serving probation for a 2006 sexual battery charge in North Carolina. The 42-year-old was being held Wednesday in the Charleston County jail on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree burglary. It was unclear if he had an attorney. Meggett lives in Summerville, S.C. He is the father of Maryland freshman running back Davin Meggett (Surrattsville).
