No, I need a purse and it's jam packed too...and I need what's in it. That's another thing I don't get! No matter how big a purse a woman has, there's the need to pack it until the stitches are about to pop! What on earth do you carry in those things!?! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

The bigger it is the more shit we put in it. But I need everything that's in it...including those 7 lipglosses, batteries, 4 pens, 2 pairs of sunglasses and 14 pairs of earrings!

All of my wife's designer purses come from me... without her having asked for them. But I guess on some level I still don't understand the need. [Edited 1/13/09 19:19pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

The purse's purpose is two-fold. One - it's pretty. We feel good carrying a nice purse. Two - there are rarely pockets in women's clothing. And even if there are, we need more things to carry around than could fit and/or it ruins the line of our clothing by bulking up all of our pockets. How do you carry around your wallet, keys and cell phone? Now factor in a checkbook, lip gloss, a bottle of ibuprofen, eyeliner and powder and compact and that would look hideous bulging out of our pockets. |

I think in america a purse is a handbag right? Here a purse is what you carry the money and cards in, like a wallet? I use the handbag to transport the wallet and sunglasses, keys, babywipes, tampons, and chapstick. I'm good to go with those things. I also use the handbags to stow store receipts and shopping lists until I get home. Funnily enough, many articles of women's clothes don't sport roomy pockets to shove all those things in I can see MORE problems with NOT carrying all that stuff in one portable convenient bag, my husband has all those problems, simultaneously. a) he can never remember which pants/car he left his card wallet in b) he leaves tissues in his pockets which mess up the laundry c) he has to tip all the change out of his pockets when he comes home, on any available surface, only to find when he wants change, it's mysteriously missing! d) He has been known to lose $$ notes, falling out of his pockets if sitting in a deep seat

Now I can think of one friend over the years who may fall into this category and maybe a few women in my extended family but of all the other women I've known through work, through family, through friends, etc. it's pretty rare that I can see that in any of them. I personally don't know any either and from what I've heard from people I know, "backstabby" behaviour seems just as prevalent in males I've worked in an office full of women & a factory full of men! A few of those "men" could teach a university degree on "How to be a total Bitch"! So there are "Bitches" in both genders!

I don't understand why women bitch and complain about (and sadly sometimes die for) unrealistic standards of beauty, but do nothing to change the industries that perpetuates this.
I also don't understand why sex has to be linked to love (or an emotional feeling of some sort) so often. Yes, I know not ALL women. But a lot.

If by gossip you mean trashing other people behind their back, I don't get it either. If by gossip you mean simply talking about the goings on of people you know, then everyone I know does it, men and women alike. men are actually better at it in some instances.... I don't get that either. This is my purse (but mine is red) I just don't carry that much with me,all I need is enough room for my $$,and CC. I also don't understand how some women pay hundred of dollars for a purse either. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach
