Which Orgers have/had switch from Windows to Linux?!? If you're one of those orgers, was/is Linux worth using? How is it better (or worse) than Windows (XP, Vista, whatever)?

Linux is more than worth it .. 5x better than Windows ... it's much more secure than Windows.. thing is .. it's not user friendly and the public wouldn't mess with it.. mostly IT people and pros deal with it... awhile ago, Dell put out a system with Linux on it to test and see if it would sell (dunno what happened) .. ... I didn't get passed the partitioning, you can have dual OS and switch back n forth..

http://www.ubuntu.com/ I'm check out Ubuntu. There is a magazine beginner's guide available at Barnes & Noble bookstore. But Ubuntu's version of Linux is still free. At least I know it will work with my hi-speed (cable) internet service. Now if I can just figure out where to purchase a web-cam and or digital camera that can work with Linux.

I have to find the website, but all versions of linux are free.. I've never messed with Ubuntu, but I hear that's user friendly and easy... red hat is easy too .. debian, SUSE, and gentoo.. one of those I want to play with....

I was trying to find the article from awhile ago where Bill Gates was in court over Linux and I found this..
http://lxer.com/module/ne...iew/45935/ yeah, cause Bill Gates knows what will happen if the public learns about Linux.. huge threat to Microsoft.. if they ever create a user friendly version of Linux, it's goodbye Microsoft..

Some people will definitely wise up and get the hell off the Microsoft Plantation! At least that is what I'm trying to do without selling out on PCs by switching to Macs.
