From Wikipedia: According to The New York Times, the HFPA "functions like an exclusive club, admitting a maximum of five new members a year, though more often...accepting only one. Any single member may object to a new member, making it extremely difficult to join. The association does not represent internationally renowned publications like Le Monde or The Times of London—indeed, it has repeatedly rejected applications from a Le Monde correspondent, while accepting applications from freelance writers from Bangladesh and South Korea". [1] The HFPA has also been scrutinized for being susceptible to heavy lobbying by studios and artists for nominations and awards. [Edited 1/12/09 20:27pm]

There was no darkness 2 be found. I don't think the brothers work in Hollywood anymore. That's right, Gray, because the promo for "No Brothas or Sistas" didn't make the cut for the Golden Globes this year.. Didn't you notice?? (j/k but I just had to say that ) [Edited 1/12/09 20:42pm]

Taraji, acted very well in that movie, and deserves an award for best supporting actress for her role in that movie. [Edited 1/12/09 20:40pm]

Come on people, you surely didn't want to see that awful Spike Lee-movie being nominated???
I'm sure that the Academy and the Golden Globes will acknowledge good roles of black actors, just like they have done with Forest Whitaker and even Hall Berry in the past.....hell even Whoopie got an Oscar for that awful Ghost-movie! Maybe next year will be better, no big issue.....but please cut the conspiracy-theories!

You're right and i work in a department store. They spent a lot of money purchasing advertisement for their chain and then it was called to they're attention they had NO people of color in the advertisements and they had to discontinue it.
