For those who dig the show about "nothing" (What episode made U a regular?)

My intern, Darren, and I were sitting around today...doing "nothing" of course, and were reminiscing about what episode got us into the most famous show about "nothing"...Seinfeld. I had been thinking about a vote, but there are so many great episodes, I didn't think I could decide. So I thought it would be fun to see where people got hooked, if indeed there are more than a couple of fans on the org.

For me...it has to be "The Contest". jerkoff I had watched Seinfeld off and on prior to that episode, but once I saw that episode I was hooked for life. That episode, and the entire show are so well crafted IMHO. I still love all the little subtle scenes within that particular show...from the bed scenes where those still "in" the contest could not sleep to the scene with George in the hospital with his mother, whom he failed to help because he had chosen to "zip up". I also enjoy how they maintain so many "threads" throughout the series as well, such as another hospital scene and references to The Contest for example...NEWMAN...gotta run, and by the way...I'm outta the contest!!!

the episode where George was getting dressed after being in the pool and he experienced 'Shrinkage' in front of the girl he was hoping to date. lol

i also liked the one where that old lady bought the last piece of bread jerry was after, and he promptly 'mugged' her for it and ran off.

too funny! lol

I didn't get hooked until the episode with Elaine and the Korean ladies at the nail salon who kept talking trash about her in their language.

I can't pinpoint a specific episode that got me hooked. But some of my faves are:

the episode where Elaine danced to EW&F's "Shining Star" in front of everybody at that party (if you don't think THAT'S funny, you don't have a sense of humor!)

the episode with the ugly baby/Kramer catching lobsters illegally/George's shrinkage after swimming (all in one episode)

the SOUP NAZI episode

the episode where Kramer got his hands on some furniture and props from a talk show and conducted a mock talk show

the episode when Kramer and the midget rehearsed for a play or something

the episode when Kramer was in negotiations to be a model for some perfume that smelled like the beach (his buttocks are spectacular)

the episode when that writer was doing a story on George and Jerry and thought they were gay...

But that very last episode was lame.

The Elaine Dance, as I call it, is forever locked into my memory.

yada, yada, yada...

my favorite seinfeld ones are

* the parking garage "we're like rats in some kind of experiment"

* the contest "the question is: are you master of your domain?"

* the soup nazi "no soup for you!"

* the one where they are waiting for a table at the chinese restaurant "i'm going to sky burger"

* the one when george pretended to be a marine biologist "the sea was angry that day my friends..."

* i also like the one where elaine dances, but the rest of the episode was kinda lame "sweet mother of god!"

i loved the show until the last season which was not worth watching.

I can't remember what made me a regular. My boyfriend @ the time turned me onto it, probably second season or so. I always loved the episode when Kramer turned his phone line into MoviePhone... Why don't you just tell me the name of the movie you want to see?! lol I can't remember a show that wasn't funny, except the finale... whofarted

"The smelly car" episode. I had only seen the show a few times prior to that but one hooked me. The best line in the show is "EVEN SUPERMAN WOULD BE POWERLESS AGAINST IT!". CLASSIC
My DC Direct wishlist: 1) Bane, 2) Prof Zoom, 3) Superman Blue, 4) Kilowag, 5) Parasite

Oh...U mean Mulva! Or was it Joseph Pugliano? Oh wait...it's Delores, and it does rhyme with a part of the female anatomy! lol Another classic episode! "Mulva" is on Young & The Restless now, or at least the actress who played "Mulva" is on there. smile

In defense of the finale...I personally liked it...especially the end when Jerry was doing his standup routine in prison, and Kramer, much like the time Jerry took a dive so Bania couldn't be the "pilot fish" to Jerry's shark, was laughing and trying to "help" Jerry out. I thought it did a good job of bringing together 9 years of stories into one theme. However, ONE thing was missing, and that was when Russell Dalrymple was in Green Peace, and the other Green Peacer promised he would remember to tell Elaine all about Russell...who had left NBC 2 be in Green Peace. Now that was one thread they missed. I must admit I did laugh, and although it is not one of my favorite episodes...I'm not sure how else U could end the show without being sappy...i.e. Cheers & MASH. Just my 2 cents.

Or...someone said something and they were "soft posters" and we didn't "hear" it? Besides that...Jerry WAS with Bryant...I suppose he could have sang "Raspberry Beret" smile

I fully agree! smile

Supernova...U are "breathtaking" wink

the SOUP NAZI episode

No Soup 4 U!

the episode where Kramer got his hands on some furniture and props from a talk show and conducted a mock talk show

I didn't even think about the old Merv Griffin set...this is totally "Kramer"...and don't forget about the toys in that episode either! smile

the episode when Kramer and the midget rehearsed for a play or something

Micky and Kramer...that is a great pair!

the episode when Kramer was in negotiations to be a model for some perfume that smelled like the beach (his buttocks are spectacular)

It was HIS idea afterall until some CK "flunky" stole it from him.

the episode when that writer was doing a story on George and Jerry and thought they were gay...

Although there isn't anything wrong with that!

But that very last episode was lame.

Not the best, but I dug it anyway..I'm not sure how else it could have been ended without being 2 sappy
