Most of you have seen where I spend my days!! I just found out the video for Tears for Fears' "Head Over Heels" was shot at my seminary back in 1985! This was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid!! The part where lead singer Roland is entering the door with the huge stack of books is our first-floor entry hall! I took several systematic theology and Christian history classes just to his right. The rest of the video was shot in our third-floor library, where tomorrow I'll pay about $120 in overdue fines... for systematic theology and Christian history books. (The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.) ...This makes me kinda, sorta special, famous, a psuedo-lebrity... er, doesn't it?!? Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I visit a website where one of the regulars is a guy who studies in a building where a Tears for Fears video was shot in 1985.
I'm a pseudo celebrity too

Even The Lord charges late fees? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

The 'Head Over Heels' music video was filmed during several days at the Emmanuel College Library in Toronto, Canada in May 1985 whilst Roland and Curt were there on the Big Chair tour. It was directed by Nigel Dick. The basic premise of the video is that Roland falls madly in love with a simple-appearing, home-body librarian (played by local model Joan Densmore) while his band-mates clown around.
The video itself falls quite in-line with the duo's personalities. "They are very natural, rather funny, pleasant people. They have a warmth. Everyone has friends like them," said Nigel Dick during a break in the Head Over Heals filming. Nigel captured this well in this video. And as Roland says, "most people get (their) videos wrong." Roland and Curt want their videos to reflect who they are. "We're just selling normality really," continues Roland. Everyone's favorite part was filming with the chimpanzee, Zippy. During one scene, Roland was horsing around and the chimp looked at Roland and stuck his tongue out because "he knew I was taking the Mickey." too cool! so how did you find this out? is there a sign going into the library?

I was perusing the internet just to see what kind of web presence my school has, and the factoid is listed on our Wikipedia page. Somehow I must have overlooked it previously. Movies are regularly shot around here, but I didn't know this video was. I think parts of Good Will Hunting were shot here too. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

That's awesome. Head Over Heels in one of my favorite videos ever.
On a side note: Doesn't it make you feel guilty to have overdue books about God? Just wondering...
