True $1 stores?
We have The Dollar Tree. We buy TP, deoderant, toothpaste, energy drinks, popcorn, gift bags, cleaning stuff, party plates/plastic ware/balloons, hair stuff like barretts/headbands, stocking stuffers for xmas, Easter basket goodies. We have a big family. It is great help.

Of course, there are some things that we have tried, then realized that cheap is NOT better.

We only have 1 dollar store in my city over here...the idea hasn't caught on.

I do take bi monthly trips there though to stock up on office supplies, gift wrap, fabric ribbon and things that can be used in my kitchen or get-togethers for entertaining. For example, see 10 cute colored plates? snatch 'em up and store them in the attic to be used for a dinner, lunch or tea-party theme later. The dollar store is also awesome for seasonal decorations. That's the kind of stuff I use to decorate gifts, gift baskets, ect. I also use it for replenishing my styling kit for shoots. Masking tape, sewing supplies, ect.

When I visit $1 stores in the US, I lose.my.mind. The size and variety of merch is overwhelming! smile

I get little dumb stuff there - decorative rocks, gift wrap stuff... I always forget about that store confused

I tried some kitchen stuff there once (oven mitts, kitchen towels) but the quality was pretty bad & I just had to buy the shit over again...

Do you find their trash bags tear a lot? I like their storage/freezer bags, hand soaps, napkins, paper plates, gift wrap, greeting cards and toothpaste. Sometimes I score name-brand things like deodorant and make-up remover there!

yeah, they do tear easily. mad But I think trash bags can get expensive, even target band is $7.00 for a box of them. I just try not to out a whole lot of trash in one bag so it has less of a chance of ripping.
They do have name brand storage and freezer bags, so they're fine.
I don't use paper plates too often - I need to start tho - getting tired of washing dishes. smile
Once in a while, they'll have name brand personal care items, but not often enough.

I do shop at the dollar stores. there is nothing wrong with some of their products. If I can make a dollar go a long way, i'm going to. Especially with the times so tough.
