Pac Man released by the Cowboys

Thank God! Now release Phillips and Garrett and I would be happy.

What took so long? Release T.O and the team may actually have
some continuity in the locker room and on the field again.
Jerry Jones dumb ass is more concerned about getting the team in
the news or on sports center with a bunch of drama than winning
football games. I'll admit i enjoyed there late season demise this
year. lol

It's all about business. Don't the Cowboys still sell more merchandise than any other team in any sport? If that's still true, Jerry could give a fuck, he's first and foremost a BIDNESS man. thumbs up!

rolleyes Is it really that serious? There are lawbreakers on EVERY team in the league, prolly in every sport, and in all walks of life as well. The Cowboys just draw more attention than others for whatever reason. Just because I support this or any other sports team does not mean that I'm dumb enough to use the players as a moral compass and if you're relying on overpaid primadonnas to be your moral compass I'd venture to say you've got bigger issues.

Oh and as far as I know no one on the team got arrested for anything this year, unlike most of the other teams in the league.

Whew. Keep clearing room til we can afford Albert Haynesworth. The way we got ran up the middle the last two games was ridiculous.

Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game. Never. There is a reason.

Frickin Norv Turner is a better coach. No joke.

The last two coaches Dallas got from college, went on to win super bowls. Maybe a name is not the best route.

Also, Romo played hard in 2006 and the middle of 2007 because he was playing for a contract. The guy has talent but he does not practice hard. He figures because he has talent, it will come easy, and that is not the case. I would get a starting QB to back up Romo and put a scare in Romo that you are not safe. Maybe it will light a fire under his ass that will wipe away that "gosh, shucky, I threw another interception, but we'll get em next drive" smile.

Fix offensive line holes, cut Hamlin, get a safety and a cb.

I do not bring up cutting T.O. because unless T.O. asks out, Jerry Jones will not cut or trade T.O. Cut and dry. It won't happen.

At least maybe for the next season, but I think another team will pick him up cheap, just like Jerry did. He got his picks back and more money under the cap so it's not like he lost anything and he got TONS of free publicity.

Nope, someone will sign him. But he won't last long. No other team or owner will go to the lengths that Jerry Jones went to, to keep him out of trouble. And he still got into trouble.

Yep. He's an idiot muthafucka that simply doesn't get it. And if the allegations that he ordered someone to be shot back 2007 are true - he's REALLY done.

Maybe you're right that they get more attention than the avg. team, but it's also because they continue to support the lawbreakers. It's common knowledge that if you're kicked off another team because of bad behavior and you still have an ounce of talent, than Jerry Jones will welcome you with open arms.
As a fan, if you continue to buy tickets, jerseys, etc and don't raise your voice against this behavior, than you're telling Jerry it is ok!

So I guess you're boycotting MOST of the NFL and half the NBA too, huh? The Cowboys don't have anymore lawbreakers than any other team. People don't stop being human or fallible JUST because they put on a jersey, play a sport well, or make millions of dollars. Odds are it's going to increase their opportunities and propensity for wrongdoing. It ain't that deep.

more merchandise than any team in the NFL and probably are still in the top

Uh, partna, that's not true. The Cowboys' merchandise has been the #1 seller for many of the last 15 years, EVEN when they are not winning, and that didn't have shit to do with Parcells. thumbs up!

From a 2001 USA Today article: http://www.usatoday.com/s...-sales.htm

"The bad-boy Oakland Raiders rank first in sales of NFL merchandise, according to figures obtained by USA TODAY, knocking out the perennial leaders, the Dallas Cowboys. The sales report covers the year through Nov. 13.

The Cowboys have been No. 1 in 8 of the last 9 years, the only interruption coming in 1997 when Green Bay rode a Super Bowl victory straight into the nation's cash registers."

Then, in 2004, it looks like the Raiders were #1 for the three preceding years even while the Patriots were winning Superbowls. hah! The Cowboys were 4th that year. http://www.sportsline.com...ry/7517764

"The Oakland Raiders sold the most NFL merchandise for the third straight year, while the New England Patriots, winner of two of the last three Super Bowls, vaulted from ninth to second.

The sales cover the period from April 1, 2003 through March 31, 2004.

The NFL announced the rankings Thursday. Following the Patriots and Raiders, the other teams in the top 10 are Green Bay, Dallas, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, San Francisco and Miami."

Okay then, in '05 the Eagles were #1 and in '06 the Steelers were #1. The Cowboys were 3rd that year. Actually, they were NOT #1 during Parcells tenure and went back to #1 right after he left. lol

From a 2007 article: http://cincinnati.bizjour...tory5.html

"The Bengals have a 4 percent share of NFL team merchandise sales this year from August through October, Powell said. That's down from 8.7 percent in the same period a year ago. By comparison, the Dallas Cowboys lead the league with 10.2 percent of the NFL team merchandise market.

The sale of NFL licensed products is a huge business. In 2005, the most recent figures available from the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, that category totaled $3.2 billion. The NFL is the top sports league for sales of licensed items."

Sorry, but I couldn't find more recent data, but I've heard ESPN state this as well. cool

Rack!

Not quite every year but a lot of 'em in NON winning years. However, even when they aren't #1 in sales they get to keep more of their money than any other team because Jerry Jones broke away from the league and controls his own marketing and merchandising. Like I said, it's all about BIDness.

Because NWA made it popular. Plus, most of their gearwear is Black, and Black goes with everything.
