MILK (2008)

Have you seen it already?

I have yesterday.

I was touched by the movie
although i expected a bit more.

Don't get me wrong its a good bio pic
but it just didn't grab me all the way in.

Any other comments?

The parts that caught my attention most were the debates and the arguments used by the right wing - a lot of them reminded me too well of what can be heard on Polish political scene nowadays. That saddened me.

What´s it about ? Is that Sean Penn in that pic ?
And how could it touch you yet not really grab you ?
What paralels do you see between the right wing in Poland and the USA ?
Why is it called Milk ?

I dug it. It was really interesting to watch in light of the recent fury over Prop 8. To see how much things have changed, and how much they haven't.

Sean Penn's performance is fucking fantastic. In general, I thought the film was just really well done.

I want to go see it just because I know Sean Penn will kick ass in the role alone.

Harvey Milk, the first openly gay politician of the 70's..I think. I did a presentation on the man..I should remember. Google him, he has a fascinating story, in my opinion.

I'll see it at some point over the next few weeks. It has been getting excellent reviews and Sean Penn has been mentioned as a surefire Oscar nominee. Also the subject matter is very timely sadly.

I finally saw the movie last night. Maybe the best movie I've seen released in 2008. The ending was extremely sad. sad
