I'm on the bus on December 30th, and I see this beautiful beautiful man get on. I'm in the back and he sits 2 seats in front of me. Since his back was to me, I couldn't even look at him. But then he turns sideways in the seat and is talking on the phone. I admired his beautiful profile all the way to the train

So I get up to get off and he is getting off at the same stop. As we get off he says hello and could he have my number OMG! So we share a small and wonderful kiss and exchange numbers and then he asks what my plans are for new years. I tell him I have none, just hanging out. He asks if I need a date! You know what I told him

So I'm about to break a more than a decade's old tradition of being date/kissless on New Years. I have actually cried at the stroke of midnight most of those years. So I get to the bar and wait for him. And I wait. And I wait. And I wait.....

at 12:03 he texts me that he fell asleep

Am I ever going to stop being the butt of Cupid's jokes?!

I spent New Years eve with my mom.

I think she has a mild form of autism.

He has these two very annoying games she plays with herself:

1) She goes through the alphabet starting a, and names all the states that go with that letter. She proceeds through the alphabet where applicable, and her fervor never lets up. I swear to god, she broke out in this game while I was on the phone with an old friend.

2) Almost everything on T.V. somehow reminds her of either the Thai monarchy or British monarchy and she likes to start from the beginning on both, and do a quick (or sometimes exhaustive rundown) if their lineage, in chronological order.


She plays both these games regardless of who the audience is, seemingly unaware of their level of interest or concern for the subject.


I saw a show on autistic kids, and found out that autism has differing levels of 'intensity' and I really think she might be.

I would have traded New Years with you.
