lol @ both of ya'll!!! I think both Mike Epps and Kevin Hart are corny. In the concept of comedy in the present day, give me Dave Chappelle.

When Dave ain't losin' his mind somewhere in the Motherland, he's funny. lol

Tracy's speciality seems to be just plain talkin shit. He's funniest when he's just havin a conversation. No stand up or actin. Just talk Tracy and his facial expressions and shit talkin alone makes u wanna laugh.

Lately, I've been on an late '80's early '90s black comedy henge. Been watching everything thing from Def Comedy Jam to In Living Color to Robert Townsend's Partners in Crime to Eddie Murphy films. And is it just me or did black comedy from that era own all? Just look at all the comedians who came from that era and became somebodies.

Eddie Murphy
Chris Rock

Damon Wayans
Keenen Ivory Wayans
Arsenio Hall
Robert Townsend
Martin Lawrence
Sinbad
Tommy Davidson
David Alan Grier

Bernie Mac
Steve Harvey

Mark Curry
Eddie Griffin
D.L. Hughley

Cedric the Entertainer
Jamie Foxx
Bill Bellamy
Robin Harris

Whoppie Goldberg
Kim Coles
Joe Torry
Dave Chappelle

And all those guys were the new thing in town. And for the most part, all those guys are still very much active. I don't know who the best young black comic today is, do you?

I highlighted my favorites form that era.

Best young Black comic? Good question. I'd have to go with Mike Epps as far as stand-up. He's not too funny in films though.

Epps is mad funny in the Friday movies but as a stand-up he's just okay IMO

I didn't think he was that funny in his 1st Friday. I didn't think he was funny in All About The Benjamins either.

Now I think the opposite of that statement, although he has his moments as a stand-up biggrin

I adored Bernie Mac and Robin Harris. Dave Chappelle was funny as all fuck. The only recent guys I can think of are Damon Williams and Deon Cole, both from Chicago.

I don't know, she just annoys the hell out of me

If there's a female comedian that I don't like, she's probably in the top 5

as for male comedians, I HATE Katt Williams and I get bored watching DL Hughley

Yep, he was just starting to get roles. He was rumored to be the original host of Def Comedy Jam. Also, he and Robert Townsend had six productions under way with CBS.

I will always LOVE RICHARD PRYOR the Best. Nobody mentioned COSBY so much. Chris Rock makes me laugh all the time and I like Tracy Morgan and Kenyan Thompson from Saturday Night Live. He cracks me up with DEEP HOUSE DISH.
