I grew up in North Minneapolis and now live in a northern suburb. My family and friends are all here so that is a big motivation to stay. But there also is a lot of good bands to see around town which is something I love to do no matter the season. I know I would miss Minnesota very much if I ever left, but I'm sure that's what most people would say about the place they grew up.

i live in Minnesota near Duluth in the country. i grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and after getting married moved to Santa Cruz, California. When we wanted to raise our family in a clean environment we by chance "picked" Minnesota off of the map. We came here with $100.00 in our pockets and soon found out about the cold, cruel winters and life in the north. Still, since moving here i've never wanted to move back to those sunny states. Minnesota is a caring, place where the cold harsh winters are just a front for the warm souls that live here. i heard that in order to keep your life interesting, you need to make it more difficult. We moved all over North and northeast Minneapolis untill I was about 8, at which point, we moved to Brooklyn Park, a now ghetto suburb about 15 minutes outside the Mpls border to the north. . I moved back to Minneapolis, when I was 17, and have been here ever since. I love it here. My life is here. My family is here ( for the most part) This is my home. I, too have traveled, although not nearly enough IMO , and whenever I come back, I always know that this is my home, that this is where I belong. I have no desire to move from here. In fact, I can't imagine, NOT living here. As for Prince, hes just the icing on the cake
