You know the saying, whatever you are doing on New Year's Eve is most likely how you will be spending the year....so if you are alone on New Year's, does that mean that 2009 will be lonely? Just wondering, it's awfully cold out where i'm at, and I don't feel like going out, but I don't want to sit at home alone either. Looks like a catch 22.

nope. in fact, it may be a good thing. i'm staying home by myself tonight too, because i don't feel like going out for new year's this time around. i won't miss the crowds at all, neither.

i'm used to spending time alone as it is.

I'm going to an overcrowded party later tonight, but I'd much rather stay home and watch a movie and drink tea

Well, I was asked to hang out, (outside somewhere with a crowd of strangers) tonight for New Year's, I initially accepted, but then I changed my mind...especially since its so damn cold out tonight, and since I don't feel like being around a crowd tonight. So i'll just be bringing in the New Year by myself, I didn't want to, but right now, I'm half drunk and just don't give a fuck. It's just another muthafuckin night to me.

I will be here with my kiddies... they just got over being sick like a day ago so I will not be dragging them out in a snow storm tonight. My teen is out with his buddies enjoying first night festivities around town. I hope he stays warm. We are making cookies and they are dancing and running around the house while music plays. I pray they wear themselves out soon

Frankly, I'm a little bit happy and sad staying at home alone on New Year's Eve. Happy because I'm not out freezing in the cold trying to get into some club at some heavily overpriced shindig just to have some champagne cork flying out of nowhere popping me in the face, (That actually happened to me one New Year's Eve.) but sad because I have no one to share a New Year's Eve hug and kiss. I've been to a few decent New Year's Eve parties when I was younger (especially in the early 1990's, but the excitement has waned a bit for me since then. Though to be honest, my most memorable New Year's Eve happened at the turn of the millenium in 1999-2000, but that was because I finally met my birth mother who put me up for adoption right after I was born. In fact, that day I was just planning on chilling out at home or at some friends house when my sister called me and let me know that my birth mom was back in my hometown to see me. I made a beeline back to my hometown just to see her. It was weird but very emotional for me.
