Women, amigas, sistas, bellas -- some of y'all can cook

It's only fair that I give props where they're due.

At the urging of her friends, my "friend" broke it down in the kitchen for me and for them for New Year's Eve.

A wonderful mixed green salad, stuffed Cornish hens, some slammin' sauteed spinach and mushrooms, mashed potatoes with gouda cheese and a flourless chocolate cake with homemade whipped cream and chocolate sauce & raspeberries (the latter had me going touched ). She's the kind of cook who makes her own sauces, too. eek

It was -- between taste and presentation -- quite simply the best meal ever done for me by a squeeze.

Rumor has it she also likes to make ice cream. drool

Given my earlier thread decrying the culinary disinterest among the women I've been meeting in recent years, I gotta be fair.

I really love spening time with friends in theirs or our, kitchens - cooking and laughing sharing

I would rather do that 10 ta 1 over going out to eat

She asked me to analyze "Lemon Crush" off the Batman soundtrack, a few weeks ago. It's apparently a favorite of hers.

nod exactly, its very theraputic. Beats being at a restaurant eating food that is just "okay" as oppose to you actually cooking it yourself with friends over, drinking, talking and laughing.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I like to cook, but I'm not so good at following recipes, I like to try things and see how it turns out.
I'm looking forward to getting a new cooker, not one of those big fangled things because I don't have the space, just one that does what it should.

I always had the appreciation -- I just didn't have the pleasure of meeting any who could burn.

Go on with your takeout. lol

Ah yes. This is what I miss about Texas - the sistas that could burn! L.A. don't have it like that. There are a few chicks that can put they foot in it here but not like in H-town! I always found it sexy when women would be doin' their thang in the kitchen razz .

I only do this once or twice a year but my special occassion menu is as follows :

Cornish game hens stuffed with wild rice and ham in an orange sauce
Strawberry glazed ham
FIVE cheese mac an' cheese
Sweet potato souffle with a flaky crust and roasted pecans
Hash brown casserole
Brocolli cheese casserole
Collard greens
Fresh garden salad
Cornbread
Peach cobbler
Pound cake strawberry shortcake

Okay, now if I wanna get down Caribbean style this is how I do:

Baked barbecued pork chops
Stewed chicken
Curry chicken
Rice and peas
Potato salad
Patacones (fried plantains)
Maduros (sauteed sweet platains)
