4 hours in the ER. sooooo.....
Remember those fancy kitchen knives I bought for Erin for Christmas? http://prince.org/msg/100/292945 Well, you guessed it, we had an injury last night. 
Erin is A-OK after filleting a piece of her middle finger while "drying" the utility knife. On the plus side, we got to be a participant of the super-efficient Hospital Emergency Room!  | |

Tuck your fingers and thumbs in (like you're making a claw with your hand). Use your knuckles as a knife guide. This will help keep knives out of your fingers.
