Google maps has a sense of humour?

I tried out the get directions thingie, and typed in San Francisco CA to Yosemite
and I forgot to add National Park CA, so it assumes I mean Yosemite in NSW Australia. OMG the directions are crazy!!! omg

I also don't understand AT ALL why it has to go via Japan and get stuck in the traffic there wacky I mean I could cut down on at least 20 paddling days just by cutting straight across the ocean

Oh yeah, if you want to visit Yosemite from CA, you might wanna consider going around through Napa Valley (wine drool ) then Reno (gambling, not quite like Las Vegas but still), Lake Tahoe, then Yosemite and back to SF wink

a kayak is something you could transport on the top of your car, so it still suits the "travelling by car" option I ticked lol
