I used to hate salad. For most of my life I considered it a tasteless waste of valuable stomach space. I spent all that time missing out on how fucking awesome salads can be.

I threw together some lettuces, carrots, red cabbage, almonds, fried noodles, raisins, dried cranberries, chopped green apple, extra sharp cheddar cheese, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and who knows what the hell else, and it is the best thing I have ever eated.

There is a restaurant here in town called Cafe 56 that has a wide variety of different salads (seemingly every variety that you can imagine!). My favorite salad from that place was called something like Nutty Fruited Spinach Salad that was soooo damn good. It had spinach with walnuts, mandarin oranges, strawberries, grapes, watermelon, cantelope, musk melon, cranberries and probably some other fruits on it that I can't think of right now. They put a creamy raspeberry vinagrette dressing on it that was the perfect finishing touch. I have not had that salad in a few years, but reading this thread is making me think that I should get one again. Now watch, the idiots won't have it on their menu anymore, just when I'm wanting one. Every salad that you buy from that place comes with a pretzel bagel that were also very good. Dammit, I'm going to have to drive out there again and get one!

Nothing about your salad. I was just answering the question what are you having for lunch. And I was saying be careful of all the DRESSING and Bread. Salads are great and Dole makes some Cheap and easy ones.

Because of this thread, I had to go out to lunch to my favorite salad place, closest to my work. California Pasta, I had a "salmon salad" baby greens, with a nice piece of salmon on top, and rasberry dressing!! dear god, that is good stuff! feels like summer, and did I mention it is 68 degrees outside right now! !!
