please...i'm pretty desperate

i can't sleep because i can't stop coughing from my sore throat or whatever the hell this is, and i'm exhausted, and nothing is working. not medicine, not lemon tea with honey, nada. anyone have any other home remedies?

put a big pot of boiling water in ure room near ure bed

breathe in the steam, like with soup?

gargle with warm sea salt water. I know it is nasty and tough to do when your throat is swollen and hurts.
Some strong menthol cough drops or lozenges as they say here in golly old England might help the cough.
That is the worst when you can't stop coughing.

If u get too bad just go into ure bathroom, close the door and run the hot water in ure shower so that the bathroom steams up, stay in there for about five minutes and take some good, deep breaths

this might sound crazy but do you happen to have any plain chocolate bars?

when my throat hurts, i melt a chocolate bar, mix it with a little bit of milk (very little milk so it doesn't lose the thickness) and start drinking/eating it with a spoon lol

it soothes the pain for me coz it coats the throat, even if not for too long.
