Going into the Workforce... I'm about to go into the Texas Workforce; their programs offer a 4 month training for certification in certain jobs. Some of these jobs (that Im interested in) are: computerized accounting, paralegal, networking technician, emergency medical techncian, phlebotomist, EKG Technician, medical office skills
I know that with just 4-month training and a certification I cant expect to get a job that'll start off at no more than $30,000 annually ,but are these good positions? How in demand are they? This my first time goin through the Workforce, btw... Ive always wanted to get into the IT field and I still do, but with the way the I.T. market has always been (ups and downs) and the current recession, I might have to reconsider.....but however, I hear that IT jobs are still in demand and some so-called "recession-proof" so, I really dont know, Im lost there... I'm also considering healthcare - which is definately good, but how in demand for emergency med techs, phlebotomists, EKG Technicians? I know people how have done like 2-week internships at hospitals doing these tasks but didnt get the job. Do hospitals really hire people for these positions? | |
