I did a play in September for which I had to sport a 1937 'do. After that, I did A Christmas Carol - and had to have an 1840s 'do.

My poor hair was trashed. disbelief

I really dig '20's style Marcel waves in short hair. But I'm impossibly lazy when it comes to haircare. Maintaining long, slightly curly hair with no particular style is too much work already IMO. Given me druthers I'd keep it all shaved off and just wear a wig. razz

I can't imagine taking the time to blowdry and curl every day. eek

I'm thinking once I'm done with my current hair project (there's actually a reason I've been forcing myself to maintain long hair I don't particularly like! I've been growing it out so I can donate it to a center that makes wigs for cancer patients. Nobody should have to wear the kind of nasty, synthetic hair wig my mom did when she was undergoing treatment. confused ) I'll save up a bit and shell out for 5 or 6 really nice quality wigs in different styles, and just shave my natural hair right down, a la Elizabeth I.

It is a huge committment and if you're the type that like to experiment with your hair all the time, better not get into dreadlockin. I've had my hair permed twice before, all natural and now dreadlocks and I have to say that dreadlocks are more manageable for me. Save a whole lotta money and I do them myself. Also, not havin to do something to my hair almost every day to make sure it looks alright is absolutely fantastico!
