Dublin advice

So I'm going to Ireland for the first time this spring, and I can't wait. Can any orgers make some recommendations for off-the-beaten-path essentials? Good pubs, cool sights, things like that. I would love to hear any and all suggestions people might have.

Also, I haven't booked a hotel yet. If you know of any good (and fairly priced) hotels, please let me know.

And thanks!

A 'must see' Pub in Dublin is The Temple Bar... try and go at a quiet time as it gets crazy in there because it's so famous

As for hotels, I stayed in one that was extremely basic, it's no hilton (but it's very secure, clean, tidy and still cheerful) which I can't remember the name of. If that's the kind of thing you're after let me know and I'll see if I can track down which one it was.

Apart from that there is SO much to see there... I suggest you look at the Lonely Planet guide for Dublin and see what you'd like to do

Thanks, Natisse and Fauxie! (And ThreadBare, I'll do my best, but I can make no promises where ice cream is concerned.)
