What gifts are not under your Christmas tree this year? (time to count your blessings)

I couldn't think of any other way to say it. What gifts are you getting or have you gotten, that you don't get by reaching under the tree, or that you don't spend any money on?

For me, I've gotten many of these gifts, but two that are coming to mind now are a) that the org really seems to have become a community to me. I see us taking action and posting like mad to confront injustice and perhaps being more welcoming of other groups that might have just been tolerated. I know I've gotten to have at least a basic rapport with several orgers in the last few months, and that is a first for me on the org.

b) the most precious gift to me is the gift of my education. In just this first semester in school, not only has a whole new world opened up to me, I have actually been quoting people that are my contemporaries in the GLBT community, for example, and I'm able to do so in a historical perspective. Plus, I've fallen back in love with my Bear community (I'll be posting about it.) But only since I've been in school have I been able to connect these dots, and have also realized that it's okay to talk about these things on a site like the org.

Your turn, orgers. Don't be shy about the details, please...

I don't have any tree...

... Nor do I have any gifts...

...or do I?

...I'm not in poverty...

... I have friends...

... I have health and a future...

... If I felt the need for gifts I would be lacking something.

This year started off very difficult, but it has turned out to be one of the best years of my life.

I have the two most precious gifts of all...my sons. They're healthy, happy, and thriving. mushy

I have my health. I have family and supportive friends.

I too am getting an education that I've wanted for a while.

I have found that I am a really good person and that I can make myself happy.

I have found the love of someone that makes me feel at peace.

I don't see a green card under my tree.

Oh, maybe that's because I don't have a tree. doh!

i feel very blessed to be doing much better this x-mas than last year finance wise.

my son and husband have brought me much joy throughout this year. and fun times!

my husband's job is going strong so far, and seems to be working for one of the more secure corps. out there.

have a nice home and car, and all that we really need as a family.

this year has been so much better than last year. i'm really grateful for everything we have, and i don't take it for granted!

You're doing better financially? Cool! I feel blessed in that dept., cuz I am getting a small raise. It'll only cover cost of living type stuff, but a raise is a raise. Would you tell us what happened to put you in better shape financiaclly? (maybe somebody could benefit from your experience)

my husband was promoted at his job, before that we were having a struggle to make it, but the increase in pay with the promotion really helped out! smile

The fact that I live in such an amazing place as Sydney and Australia in general
My health and what surely is the greatest gift of all - LIFE
