Copenhagen struck by earthquake!

But I survived. woot!

So did my Prince and comics collections. whew

I woke up late at night/early in the morning because my bed was shaking. Shaking like a leaf on a tree. shocked

But then the shaking stopped and I fell asleep again. biggrin

Then, this morning I got a text-message from my mother asking if I was okay because there had been an earthquake in Sweden and Denmark. I was actually reliefed to find out that the shaking was caused by an earthquake. You see, I was kinda wondering if it was me who had maybe lost my mind. smile

Anyway, I've never experienced an earthquake before. I think this is actually the first to ever hit Denmark. We usually don't have eathquakes in Scandinavia. So I wonder why we had one now? confuse

They just said on the news that the earthquake had its epicenter in Sweden near Malmö. It started at 06:20, lasted 5 seconds and measured 4.7 on the Richter scale. eek

They also said the last time we had an earthquake in Denmark was in 1985, but I don't remember that. confused

Anyway, no one was hurt. biggrin

Okay!! I was once at the METREON in San Francisco with my ex. An earthquake hit. All the tourists were running around screaming. I just looked up at my ex and said "Eh, what do you think? 3.1?" and he replied "Yeah, I think so."

We continued shopping.

If I would've been a kid I would've said "Peace". I would've wanted to get out of there fast.

Earthquakes still scare me though, don't get me wrong. It's just that the little ones don't anymore.

I thought 4.7 was scary enough. When I went to bed last night, I thought a lot about it, wondering how helpless you are against the forces of nature that might destroy you on a whim. boxed

Don't get me wrong! I totally understand your plight. My wife, who is German, was terrified when she felt her first quake.

Miguel, Ehuffnsd and I are a bit jaded, California is always rockin' so we don't sweat the small stuff...

I took active part in the Loma Prieta quake of '89 (S&R) and it was devastating (http://en.wikipedia.org/w...earthquake) but after that I just take it all in stride...

Stay safe!
