I thought the movie was anticlimactic. It was at least 20 minutes too long. But otherwise it was alright. I still think Cloverfield is the best movie of the year, though. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I watched the movie yesterday. I love the movie. It wasn't bad. I think Heath nail the role. I think the joker was the most exciteing part of the film. This film was much better that Batman Begains.
I think this joker is so cool. He is very manipulative and has a sleeve of full tricks

I think the film suffers for two reasons.
Firstly, It is too long. They simply try to fit too much in. And secondly, The Joker is so good that whenever he's not on screen you find yourself just waiting/and wanting for him to come back on. This being said, it is still a great film with some incredible moments, and i believe it gets better on second viewng. coming from a LIFELONG comic fan, and even beyond that a movie fan, TDK is the best comic based movie ever made. PERIOD. as a matter of fact the fact that the top 2 both came out this year, (the other being Iron Man) is somewhat startling. Neither one makes the top 3 of this lifelong comic fan. The Dark Knight was a big improvement over Batman Begins IMO, but it has its share of problems. I still don't think Bale fits (particularly as Batman), the movie is way too long, the drama over Rachel isn't suspenseful in the slightest, Two-Face was wasted, etc. OTOH, I thought Ledger was fantastic. I saw this movie over the weekend. I liked it, but it was no where near a great movie. It was well done and the special effects were good, but it was a bit too long and there were too many things going on.
Having said that, Heath Ledger was awesome in his role as the Joker. If it were not for him, I think I may have been a bit bored. He made the movie. Each time he was on screen I was totally engrossed. I thought he did a fantastic job and I hope he wins a few awards for it too.

Sure the Burton films looked interesting, but they weren't deep, introspective, or in hindsight that good compared to the Nolan flicks. What Nolan has done, taking a comic based series and taking the "comic" out of it and making it a drama that happens to be about comic book characters, is nothing less than amazing. comparing Nicholson (who was just himself in makeup) to Ledger is an insult. Ledger BECAME the Joker. TDK could've been another hour longer, and i would've sat there. gladly. Best post in this thread. Agreed.

No, not going to happen. Probably created by the same people who thought Jack Black would make a great Green Lantern and Halle Berry would make a great Catwoman.

I liked the Dark Knight, but not nearly as much as Batman Begins. Heath Ledger was very good, I thought, but I could not separate his death from my experience of watching it.
Also, it really should have been trimmed, the two-face character should have been the next movie. Or maybe a DVD extra. It was too long, and felt unrelated and added on when the movie should have been ending. My Legacy
