New York! // OMG, I met Sextonseven! ...(now with a few PICTUREs- page 7) So last Friday, I had the pleasure of going to New York for the first time aaaannnnddd
meeting Sextonseven in person and I just feel like telling you guys how great it was First off the bus I took got me there about 1 and a half hours earlier than I expected, so I wandered around a bit waiting for Sean...In this breif time I got lost in a huge-ass Kmart and nearly trampled in the out-of-control Macy's. So I just decided it was safer to hide out in Border's Bookstore. At about 5:30pm I meet up with Sean....He's extremely nice, easy-going, good looking, smart, and kinda soft spoken. I'll admit that at first I felt a bit uncomfortably shy around him because between his mannerisms, style, and personality he seemed too cool to be hanging with a dork like me but he is so kind, I got over that He deserves all the love he gets around here cause he's just all around terrific ...but thats enough gushing We rode the subway back to his place and I got to act like a kid in a candy store going through his music collection, picking out stuff for us to listen to. Time flew and before I knew it it was time to check out The Virgins at the Bowery Ballroom. Very cool show, nice sized crowd, and the band was really high energy and fun. The only downside was the out-of-control coatcheck line! yikes! Next we went to the East Village at about 12 or 1 am I guess to eat at Yaffa Cafe. The theme of this place was unclear, and the music choices didn't seem to belong either, but the vegetable curry gets 2 thumbs up from me! After when we got back to his place, and even though it's getting late he agrees to watch an episode of Heroes with me ..... My head finally hits the pillow at 3:45am I slept really well for like 4 solid hours, but of course 7:33am rolls around and I was sitting up wide awake like a complete loser so I just read and whatever about 10am Then when he got up we watched some more Heroes! (hey, I had no idea it was such a good show) Then we headed out for breakfast at a diner, and then took the subway back into Manhattan so I could be a nerdy tourist Saw Rockafeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, The Virgin Megastore, lots of theaters, shops, people on the street, broke down Santa Clauses, all kinds of stuff!! It was really fun wandering around with him, but alas the evening began to roll around and my bus was scheduled to leave at 5:15pm, so we headed back to Penn Station I had alot of fun and I hope Sean sort of did too This was one of my better weekends of the year ....sorry this post is so long, I tried to be as brief as possible, but I'm basing this off a 7 page journal entry, so it's tough okay! I love org travel stories.
thekidsgirl, I'd never checked the location listed in your profile. Somehow, you always gave me a New York air. (Though I have no idea quite what that means.) I assumed you already were there. I trust you fit in quite well there. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

My nerdy butt once asked a Baltimore cop how to get to Edgar Allan Poe's house at like 12:30 a.m. He scanned the trash-strewn street and the group of hardcore bruhs gathered at every corner, then looked at me like I had "death wish" stamped on my forehead. [Edited 12/15/08 9:35am] what did he say? Nothing but nice things of course . Don't you trust him? He told me all of what you did in an a bit more stripped down version, but I don't think he forgot anything, he even mentioned the coats too . He couldn't believe how little sleep you need and he told me you are very tall and extremely nice and polite.
