I don't understand what the whole noise is about. many people die every day from car accidents. Why is SHE any different than all the rest that she deserves a thread? just because she's the sister of a has been entertainer?
[Edited 12/12/08 13:40pm]

Exactly....I was thinking the exact same thing...my first reaction was shrug...I've never been all in Macauley Culkin's business to know that he even had a sister, so why should I feel anything more than a fleeting "AWWWW" moment.....

I don't think people are showing compassion BECAUSE it's his sis, but just because there was loss of life. If it had been an 8-year-old or an 81-year-old, most of those that posted for his sis would post for those 2 as well.

That's fine. So are we supposed to post a thread of every person who dies now?

spit

or like when your on the wrong side of town and some three year old kid darts into the street cause he always sees his old brothers/sisters moms and dads just standing having conversations in the middle of the road, or they walk in the middle of the road ignoring cars acting like "i wish you would hit me."
yeah kinda like that.

I don't know anyone killed that way. That doesn't even bother me anymore.
But I've seen girls step off the curb without even looking and are talking to other girls who aren't looking either (I'm approaching them and watching) they all just step out on faith I guess. Or they are on the phone and again not bothering to look left or right just walking and talking . . .

No, if I were thinking that, I could have said that. Why is my experience wrong?
How is an experience in and of itself right or wrong? Isn't that perception?

Your experience is your experience, but you're "wrong" in how you presented your experience because you don't know "MOST of the WOMEN in L.A." to which you based your response on. Plain and simple. What you SHOULD'VE said was "Most of the women that I know in L.A...." and then it would've made somewhat more sense. But even beyond that, to sit there and act as if you know EXACTLY WHY she did it is still ridiculous.

where did I give a why? I don't know why women in L.A. choose not to look left and right when crossing the street.
I don't care about why, I care that they understand the hazard. They themselves appear to be making a very conscious decision to cross the street. That's all I know. Why looking left and right isn't the sensible way to do that for them, I couldn't begin to explain . . .,

lol Dude, you can't even prove that MOST L.A. women do this. Give me the numbers on this. Show me that an OVERWHELMING AMOUNT (MOST) of L.A. actually do this. You can't. You have zero proof. None. This is ALL based on your extremely small sample from your individual experience. So, this was NEVER about "Why" women do it, this was about you falsely claiming that MOST L.A. WOMEN DO IT, to which you have absolutely no facts to back up your ridiculous claim.

But you DID actually give a "why" and even THAT was ridiculous!:

I guess they think they're SO beautiful everyone is watching them.

C'mon. That's even MORE ridiculous than your whole "MOST L.A. women". lol

But we can both agree that women in L.A. do it right? Whatever the actual percentage is.

My why is going to be as good as anyone else's since we can't ask her 'why?'

No, we can agree that PEOPLE do it in the U.S., not just "L.A. Women". And no, your why isn't as good as anyone else's. To me, it has to be reasonable, and I dont deem "Because pretty women expect cars to stop for them" as a viable "why".

Why limit it to just people in the U.S.? People throughout the known universe probably do it as well right?

What one deems reasonable or not depends on a lot of factors . . .

But I'm glad to know I've found the arbiter of reasonableness. That will come in handy in P& R certainly.
