I completely understand - I used to be totally intimidated by the girls I was attracted to back in high school. I always assumed they were constantly being asked out, so I didn't have a chance. Of course, years later, some of them told me "of course I would have gone out with you, why didn't you just ask?" which was information I could have used FIVE YEARS EARLIER.

However, when I met my wife, I used the "not that kind of girl" thing to my advantage. She was gorgeous, and a lot of guys I knew were into her, so I told her she would never go out with me because "she's not that kind of girl" - which set her off to prove she was INDEED "that kind of girl."

Which, of course, was my plan all along.

But anyhow, the truth is, guys are easily intimidated. Never underestimate how fragile a guy can be when confronted with a hot girl.

Seriously, you should get pointers from the guys around you. It's an aura. It's how you dress, how you walk, how you talk. It's confidence. I asked a girl out once because I thought I could tell that she WAS that kind of girl just by how she walked up the stairs (swear to god, it was a strut and swagger like I had never seen) - and sho nuff, she WAS that kind of girl.

Maybe there should be a "life coach" who teaches girls these kinds of things

I was told by a friend at the time that X (in our class) was really pretty, and I was "different" looking (and the pause while searching for that word was long and painful for me lol). The only person back then that told me I was pretty was my mum, and she HAS to say that. I really thought no boy asked me out because I was UGLY, so this guy writing that to me yesterday is such a shock.
