here's a combination of words I take issue with: "bad mother"
it's one I hear bandied around pretty flippantly all over the media, but is REALLY judgemental.

I always like 'discombobulate'. 'Mellifluous' is a favourite too.
Disliked words? 'Burglarized' is pretty stupid.

Disliked words? 'Burglarized' is pretty stupid. 'Mellifluous' has a great definition but does not roll off the tongue as smoothly as the concept. ( At least in American) Say it Nick , say it!

there is no pleasant way to use the word "appropriate".
whenever i hear that word, i cringe. it never means anything positive or complimentary. i've never had anyone say to me, "you know, the thing i love the most about you is how appropriate you are. you are one of the most appropriate people i know." it's an ugly word and i won't allow its use in my home! well, okay, i will allow it in my home, but it doesn't mean i like it.
