Christmas cards I love sending out Christmas cards, and I love getting them in the mail. I have noticed thru the years people have started sending "email" Christmas cards, and I feel that ruins the whole idea of Christmas cards in general.
My question is this...do you enjoy sending and getting cards? Are you the kind of person who sends the "This is what we have been doing all year" letter with it? Do you get the family all together and take a big pic and send it with your cards? (I am guilty of this) Or do you just say forget it, and send Christmas wishes via the email, Facebook, and Myspace? I don't really save the cards myself, I'm not sentimental like that. To save fuel and paper, I won't be getting my kids to give out cards to every classmate this year, nor will I be sending actual cards. Our immediate family will get cards I made, featuring the boys in santa hats holding the dog. Everyone else will get it via email, with a short note, since I don't like those to whom it may concern mass emails.
No myspace cards neither, I might post a Merry Christmas bulletin with the pic though!

I love Christmas cards. I tape them all along the doorway in my dining room (the S'mores room). I especially love the holiday newsletter.
I send cards every year. I've never done the newsletter only because I don't have a boyfriends or kids or life. It would look something like this: Dear friends and family, The year started out with a bang when I gained another 20 pounds just from Christmas candy alone. I turned 31 and am still single and bitter. Just 4 more years until advanced maternal age kicks in. Go me! I have sent out a picture card with me and my cat on it (the one in my profile). Most people thought it was the cutest thing they've ever seen. A few people, mainly my Grandma, were not amused. I love getting picture cards from people even if it only has their stupid pets on it. Shake it til ya make it

I think I might send out cards for the first time ever this year. I received some nice ones last year, so I owe a few people.

I'm not sending as many cards this year,
but the ones I'm sending will be the real deal. I don't do the "mass" letter thing...if I do a letter, it's handwritten to each individual person. Honestly, I really dislike mass letters where people talk about themselves in third person I'd rather have a few hand written lines at the bottom of the Christmas card

My Aunt Irene was famous for writing about 6 to 8 typewritten pages every Christmas...she'd even relate what she ate for dinner the night she sat down to type it And it was always something like this "Irene ate baked chicken, rice, a green salad and pecan pie for dinner this evening before sitting down to type this letter to her lovely family and friends". I kid you not! It felt like she was talking about someone else! Bless her soul though, she's got dementia now and won't be writing a letter this year But I have many of her old ones still and may actually enjoy reading them more now, just for the memories.

I once thought about sending out a mass letter with my cards...but I try to keep everyone updated so much thru out the year, I feel I would only be repeating myself. Proud Memaw to Seyhan Olivia Christine ,Zoey Cirilo Jaylee & Ellie Abigail Lillian

I could give or take Christmas cards ....my wife sends out a ton of 'em but I don't see the point in giving cards to people that you see fairly often, maybe just to those that aren't close by...
we have already gotten cards from our neighbors...while I appreciate the sentiment, they could have just waved across the yard and said Merry Christmas...

I still LOVE the book you sent me ... I wish I had my parents' photos of Israel. They are amazing photographers. Israel has so many beautiful places to see and experience. Christmas in Bethlehem is fascinating to see.

We don't get Christmas cards that much anymore, but when I did. I liked the ones that mentioned Silver Bells. I love that song.

I prefer to mail holiday cards--I usually write a short note to close friends, a few sentences to relatives or those I'm not as close to. Never included any pictures (I am pretty camera shy) or "form" letters.
This year I am not going to send out cards because it is too expensive. I will probably do three sets of emails: one letter to work/professional contacts, one to close friends, and a third to everyone else. I always send hand-written thank-you notes for any gifts received.
