I have entered some names into various MySpace-like sites, but afterwards always wonder; WTF?

The past is past for a reason, I think.

I'm trying myspace right now, I'm looking for former in-laws. Those that I found don't look anything like my nieces though, then again it's been 12 years. neutral

It does not have to be stalker-ish. You might regret losing people in the past due to various reasons. Like just losing contact; the internet is great to re-aquanit yourself with certain people.

Internet can be used in many ways; it does not have to be for unsavory purposes only; it can also reconnect people. I just means that in my case it never worked out.

pardonme4livin

Classmates.com - caught up with a few old friends
US Search - same as above

There are tons of ways....some people don't want to be found....as was the case one of my Air Force friends....

As with me....unless you knew something very specific, like my address, I'd be nearly impossible to locate....

I've tried to look for an old boss of mine who moved to the States. I've found the same numbers that I got from other people. None of them worked. sad
It sucks, because he could've helped me immigrate.

Haven't found lost friends from school in Facebook or MySpace, since it's mostly for Americans, and you can't find many schools listed in other countries, if at all.

An old friend of mine found my work email address simply by googling me.

confused

I mean, it was someone I have really enjoyed catching up with, I just don't like the idea that I can be found so easily. I think it's because my name is so unique. I should change it to Smith or Johnson or something.

And facebook has brought all KINDS of people from my past out of the woodwork.

There's a Dutch site like Facebook and it helped that I did not join using my actual name but as hamsterhuey.

[grin]

I am going to delete it anyways cuz it's a boring, stupid site.

Myspace
Facebook
Friendster
classmates.com
Tribe.net

yellowpages.com (then do a people search--you have to guess the city if they have a common name).

That's how my friend found her neice, through myspace, which is cool. As someone mentioned before though, if someone doesn't want to be found online, they don't use their real names, like my sister who never uses her real name but uses her pseudonym in place of her real name all the time. lol

i think there is s search function for real names even though they use a pseudonym
or the email function.
