Do Minnesotan's have squinty eyes like her?

I do when I smile. neutral

And I hate it. (And I think that very squint is the reason I hate HER so much too.)

Which is why I always have the same smile in posed pictures. You know the one. With my mouth open and eyes all wide.

Looks like a winter wonderland in the woods ! LOVE IT !!

My parents often rent cabins up north in the winter for a getaway. It's quite peaceful. nod

Jess will be a senior next yr - our last of 4 to finish HS - so I was thinking a winter trip and snowmobiling - or something

That scene whre she walks out of the airport into the cold is almost exactly what some Dutch friends of mine experienced a few years ago when visiting Mpls. in the winter. nod

They still talk about the cold. They had never experienced anything like it, and of course they didn't have anything really warm to wear with them either. lol

Yeah, yeah. That part is true.

that part was ME this morning, wearing pantyhose to go with my skirt dammit neutral

About a million light years ago, I use to hang out in the "Minnesota Room" on AOL. Yes, I did...dear god.. anyways, I went in there thinking I would find a million Prince fans, what I found instead was some of the most sweetest, sincere, horniest, people around. God love them. To this day, I still stay in very close contact with 2 dear friends I met in there, one from Excelsior and one from Mankato. They are 2 of the dearest friends a girl have ever had. God bless Minnesotans.

My view is skewed. I've only ever visited Minnesota in the summer.

Somewhere in my mind, I do still expect the state to be a slow, icy Midwestern hell in the winter. But I have to admit MPLS was actually a pretty cool town. I could happily live there... for a little while at least.

It's becoming a bit of a stereotype, but that's not what I think of when I think of Minneapolis or the kitties.

I think Catherine O'Hara did a great job with the accent and mannerisms in A Mighty Wind. It wasn't so cliched.

I'm not the biggest fan of Renee Suckslemonsface either.

this month, exactly 2 years ago, I had a three hour layover on my way to L.A. to see Muse. A good friend of mine who´s from MPLS picked me up and drove me through town and we had something to eat....I like the vibe, and it was thrilling to have my pic taken in front of 1st Ave.....

First Ave! woot!

Minneapolis is a great little city. I heart it. Between the place and the people, I always feel at home there.

I had a college roommate from Mankato and her mom had a thick Minnesotan accent. Being from northwestern Iowa, I do notice shades of it in people I grew up with. Sometimes in New York people will ask me where I grew up--they claim they can tell it's the midwest by my "accent." I don't think I have one! hmph! lol I definitely don't have the long "O"...although I do catch myself elongating certain syllables at times. confused

There is a Catherine Opie photography exhibition currently at the Guggenheim and her Icehouses series (taken just north of Minneapolis/St. Paul) are on display:
