My daughter brought X'mas presents for her aunt's cats and dog. She is only six and in her mind everyone including pets celebrate X'mas. So her suggestion to buy X'mas gifts/card for the cats and dog took me by surprise but I went along with the idea.

At the family gathering she met a new puppy (black lab) her cousin recently got from a shelter and she fed him some treats and they became friends really fast. The black lab kept wagging his tail in her face, and sitting very close to her, literally on her feet, which made her jump up a couple of times.
She seemed a bit confused by it's attention and I pointed out to her that the dog liked her (probably wanted more treats) and was just showing her some affection.
