i went to michigan for my uncles funeral, just got home, it was about 3:30 in the morning when we got here, walked in, things looked ok - then i realized how cold it was in here...

they smashed in my back door window, glass all over the floor

so far, we can only see that they took my son's xbox360, play station 2, all his games, and his cell phone. the cop said hes certain it was a child that did it because of what they were after. jake is NOT happy. this is his first time being violated like this and i can tell that he is angry and hurt, his answer was interesting... 'mom, you are gonna have to come get me from school on monday cuz im kickin somebodies ass!'

brianna doesnt know what to do with herself, she keeps saying 'mom, this doesnt feel like our house anymore'....


oh, the kids just looked in the fridge, they ate the cake i made




jake is very mad, even though i have explained that i have insurance for this reason. it just sucks that in a time like this with everything we have been through this week - some asshole decided to break in our home and make it hard for us to feel safe

I don't know which lesson would be better. Right now you kids feel the house is not safe, but in reality, the lesson will probably be you can't always trust the people you think you know.

That reminds me of the time we got broken into at my job. The thieves took the usual stuff like office equipment, radios, etc. but they also went into my co-workers drawer, ate the candy she had in it, and left the wrappers on her desk. But the funniest part, is that they broke into the custodian's storage closet and stole one of the guys' toothbrush. Now, it would be totally gross to brush your teeth with a brush that someone else has brushed their teeth with but I just wish they knew what the toothbrush was for. The custodian used that toothbrush to clean the hard to reach areas of the toilet bowls.

Sometimes thieves look at the obituaries..they find where the families live and rob them when they know they're at a funeral. Nice huh?

This happened to my best friend's house over Thanksgiving weekend when she was out of town, after driving for 5 hours, white knuckling it in a snowstorm. She was already frazzled and was looking forward to relaxing. She's pretty sure it's one of her daughter's friends who did it but has no proof and nothing can be done about it. The culprit only took $60 in change and watches but they busted her daughter's window to get in the house, including kicking in my friend's locked bedroom door. They left the PS3 and anything that was really worth anything.

I'm sorry this happened to you and at such a horrible time. Hopefully things can get back to normal for all of you.
